how to cook
Bring 1 inch of water to boil in a 2 qt saucepan.
Add 4 cups cut green beans and 1 sts salt or to taste.
Return to boil.
Reduce heat.
Cover and simmer 25 – 45 mins or until tender crisp.
Drain, add butter and serve.
how to freeze
Snap off ends of ends of green beans and snip or break into desired lengths.
Wash and allow to dry completely.
When beans are dry, put into freezer bags.
Beans will keep approximately 6 months with this process.
Green Bean Bake
- 8 cup 1 inch green bean pieces
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
Cook beans in water about 5 mins. Drain. Toss with onion, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. Pour into a 2 qt casserole. Combine remaining ingredients and sprinkle over beans. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 20-25 mins.
